1 以色列族出埃及後、二年二月朔、耶和華在西乃野、會幕中、諭摩西曰、 And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 以色列會衆、循其室家宗族、凡諸丁男、按名以核其數、 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
3 自二十歲以上、能臨陳之以色列人、爾及亞倫、當依其行伍而計之、 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.
4 每支派中、當有一人偕爾、爲其族長、 And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.
5 偕爾之人、其名列下、屬流便者、示丟珥子以利蓿、 And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of the tribe of Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.
6 屬西緬者、蘇利沙代子示路蔑、 Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
7 屬猶大者、亞米拿達子拿順、 Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
8 屬以薩迦者、蘇押子拿坦業、 Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of Zuar.
9 屬西布倫者、希倫子以利押、 Of Zebulun; Eliab the son of Helon.
10 約瑟之裔、屬以法蓮者、亞米忽子以利沙瑪、屬瑪拿西者、比大蓿子迦瑪列、 Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
11 屬便雅憫者、基多尼子亞比但、 Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.
12 屬但者、亞米沙代子亞希以謝、 Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13 屬亞設者、俄蘭子帕結、 Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.
14 屬迦得者、丟珥子以利雅薩、 Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
15 屬拿弗他利者、以南子亞希拉、 Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.
16 此乃自會中所簡、宗族之牧伯、皆爲以色列軍中之長、 These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
17 以上所列諸名、摩西亞倫召之、 And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:
18 二月朔、集會衆、循其室家宗族、自二十歲以上、依其名數、述其譜系、 And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
19 摩西遵耶和華命、在西乃野核其數、○ As the Lord commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 以色列長子、流便子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、凡諸丁男、能臨陳者、 And the children of Reuben, Israel’s eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
21 計四萬六千五百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.
22 西緬子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、凡諸丁男、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
23 計五萬九千三百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.
24 迦得子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
25 計四萬五千六百五十、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Gad, were forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.
26 猶大子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
27 計七萬四千六百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.
28 以薩迦子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
29 計五萬四千四百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.
30 西布倫子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
31 計五萬七千四百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.
32 約瑟之裔、以法蓮子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
33 計四萬有五百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.
34 瑪拿西子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
35 計三萬二千二百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred.
36 便雅憫子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
37 計三萬五千四百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred.
38 但之子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
39 計六萬二千七百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Dan, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.
40 亞設子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
41 計四萬一千五百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.
42 拿弗他利子孫、循其室家宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 Of the children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
43 計五萬三千四百、 Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
44 以上所載、乃摩西亞倫與以色列之牧伯十二人、各爲其宗族所核計、 These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
45 以色列人、按其宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、 So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
46 綜計六十萬三千五百五十人、 Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47 利未宗族、不列其數、 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48 蓋耶和華曾諭摩西曰、 For the Lord had spoken unto Moses, saying,
49 利未支派勿核、勿與以色列族同計其數、 Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
50 必立之以理法幕、及其器皿、與其所有、彼必舁幕曁器、供役其中、四周建營、 But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
51 徙幕時、利未人撤之、張幕時、利未人立之、外人近其側、必致之死、 And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
52 以色列衆張幕、各在其營、各循其纛、各依其伍、 And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.
53 惟利未人建營、當環法幕、免以色列會衆干怒、守衞法幕、乃利未人之責任、 But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
54 以色列族、遵耶和華所諭摩西之命而行、 And the children of Israel did according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so did they.
