| 1 | 尼布甲尼撒王製金像、高六十肘、廣六肘、立於巴比倫州杜拉平原、 | Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon. |
| 2 | 遣使召諸方伯、大臣牧伯、刑官庫司、議士士師、及諸州牧咸至、爲尼布甲尼撒王所立之像、行敬奉之禮、 | Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. |
| 3 | 於是方伯、大臣牧伯、刑官庫司、議士士師、及諸州牧咸集、爲尼布甲尼撒王所立之像、行敬奉之禮、俱立於像前、 | Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up. |
| 4 | 遒人大聲呼曰、諸民諸國、諸方言者、今命爾曹、 | Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, |
| 5 | 爾於何時、聞角簫琵琶琴瑟笙、及各樂器之音、卽當伏拜尼布甲尼撒王所立之金像、 | That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: |
| 6 | 凡不伏拜者、卽時投於烈火之爐、 | And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. |
| 7 | 諸民聞角簫琵琶琴瑟、及各樂器之音時、諸民諸國、諸方言者、遂伏拜尼布甲尼撒王所立之金像、 | Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. |
| 8 | 時、有迦勒底數人、進前控猶大人、 | Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews. |
| 9 | 奏尼布甲尼撒王曰、願王萬歲、 | They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever. |
| 10 | 王歟、爾曾頒詔、凡聞角簫琵琶琴瑟笙、及各樂器之音、當伏拜金像、 | Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image: |
| 11 | 凡不伏拜者、必投於烈火之爐、 | And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. |
| 12 | 有猶大數人、沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌、乃王所立、以理巴比倫州事者、王歟、斯人不尊重爾、不事爾神、不拜爾所立之金像、 | There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. |
| 13 | 尼布甲尼撒怒、忿甚、命攜沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌至、遂攜之至於王前、 | Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego. Then they brought these men before the king. |
| 14 | 尼布甲尼撒謂之曰、沙得拉、米煞、亞伯尼歌、爾曹不事我神、不拜我所立之金像、乃故意乎、 | Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? |
| 15 | 今爾聞角簫琵琶琴瑟笙、及各樂器之音、願伏拜我所製之像、則可、若不拜之、必卽時投於烈火之爐、何神能拯爾於我手耶、 | Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? |
| 16 | 沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌對曰、尼布甲尼撒歟、斯事、我儕無庸答爾、 | Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. |
| 17 | 果爾、我所事之上帝、能拯我於烈火之爐、亦必拯我於爾手、 | If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. |
| 18 | 卽不然、王當知我決不事爾神、不拜爾所立之金像、 | But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. |
| 19 | 尼布甲尼撒怒甚、向沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌變色、命爇其爐、烈較尋常七倍、 | Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. |
| 20 | 亦命軍中壯士數人、縛沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌、投諸烈火之爐、 | And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. |
| 21 | 三人被縛、仍衣褲袍與褻服、及他衣、投於烈火之爐、 | Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. |
| 22 | 因王命孔亟、其爐甚熱、投沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌之人、俱爲火燄所斃、 | Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego. |
| 23 | 沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌三人被縛、墮於烈火之爐、 | And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. |
| 24 | 時、尼布甲尼撒王駭異、急起、謂議士曰、我所縛而投於火者、非三人乎、對曰、王歟、是也、 | Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. |
| 25 | 王曰、我見四人、不縛不傷、遊於火中、其四者之貌、有若神子、 | He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. |
| 26 | 尼布甲尼撒近烈火之爐門曰、至上上帝之僕、沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌歟、其出而前、三人卽自火中出、 | Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, came forth of the midst of the fire. |
| 27 | 方伯大臣牧伯、及王之議士咸集、見此三人、火不能傷其身、首髮不焦、衣服不變、火燎之臭、亦未及之、 | And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them. |
| 28 | 尼布甲尼撒曰、沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌之上帝、宜頌美焉、遣其使救賴之之僕、彼背王命、自舍其身、於其上帝外、不事他神、而崇拜之、 | Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. |
| 29 | 我今頒詔、各民各國、各方言者、凡謗沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌之上帝、必解其體、使其室爲糞場、蓋無他神能行拯救若是、 | Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. |
| 30 | 王遂陞沙得拉米煞亞伯尼歌於巴比倫州、 | Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego, in the province of Babylon. |
