1 耶穌又設喻語衆、當恆祈不倦、 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 曰、邑有士師、不畏上帝、不禮世人、 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 其邑有嫠、屢就之曰、有仇我者、祈伸我寃、 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 久而不許、後自思云、我雖不畏上帝、不重世人、 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 但此嫠凟我、必伸其寃、免其恆來擾我、 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 主曰、聽此不義之士師所言、 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 上帝選民晝夜呼籲、雖久忍之、豈不伸其寃乎、 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 我語汝、必速伸之矣、雖然、人子至時、將見有信於世者乎、○ I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
9 有自恃爲義、而輕視他人者、耶穌設喻謂之曰、 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 二人登殿祈禱、一爲法利賽人、一爲稅吏、 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 法利賽人立而自禱曰、上帝歟、我謝爾、以我不似他人強索、不義、淫亂、亦不似此稅吏、 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 我七日禁食者二、而以所得者十輸其一、 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 稅吏遠立、不敢舉目仰天、第拊膺曰、上帝歟、憐我罪人也、 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 我語汝、此人歸、較彼得稱爲義、蓋自高者、將卑之、自卑者、將高之也、○ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
15 有攜孩提就耶穌者、欲其捫之、門徒見而責之、 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them.
16 耶穌呼之來、曰、容孩提就我、勿禁之、蓋屬上帝國者、乃如是人也、 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
17 我誠語汝、凡承上帝國、而不如孩提者、斷不得入也、○ Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein.
18 有宰問之曰、善哉夫子、我將何爲、以承永生、 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
19 耶穌曰、何善我乎、善者惟一、上帝而已、 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
20 夫諸誡爾所識也、毋淫、毋殺、毋竊、毋妄證、敬爾父母、 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
21 對曰、凡此、我自幼悉守之矣、 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
22 耶穌聞此、語之曰、爾猶缺一、悉鬻所有以濟貧、則將有財於天、且來從我、 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
23 其人聞之、憂甚、巨富故也、 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
24 耶穌見之曰、有財者入上帝國、難矣哉、 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
25 駝穿鍼孔、較富者入上帝國猶易也、 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26 聞者曰、然則誰能得救乎、 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
27 曰、人所不能者、上帝能之也、 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.
28 彼得曰、我儕已舍所有從爾矣、 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
29 曰、我誠語汝、未有爲上帝國、舍屋宇、父母、兄弟、妻子、 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,
30 而今世不獲倍蓰、來世不獲永生者也、○ Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
31 耶穌攜十二徒、謂之曰、我儕上耶路撒冷、先知所載指人子者、將悉應矣、 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
32 蓋將見付於異邦人、受戲侮凌辱之、唾之、 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
33 又鞭之、殺之、三日復起、 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.
34 門徒一無所悟、蓋斯言隱祕、而彼不識所謂諸事也、○ And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken.
35 近耶利哥時、有瞽者坐乞路旁、 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
36 聞衆過、問其故、 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
37 或告之曰、拿撒勒人耶穌過此也、 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
38 瞽者呼曰、大衞之裔耶穌、矜恤我、 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
39 前行者斥之使默、彼愈呼曰、大衞之裔、矜恤我、 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
40 耶穌止、命攜之來、旣近、則問之曰、 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
41 欲我何爲、曰、主、俾我得見、 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
42 耶穌曰、可見也、爾信救爾矣、 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
43 彼卽得見、從耶穌、歸榮上帝、衆見之、亦頌讚上帝、 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
