Third Vision: A Measuring Line
This time I saw someone holding a measuring line,
I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.
2 and I asked, “Where are you going?” “To measure Jerusalem,” was the answer. “To find out how wide and long it is.” Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
3 The angel who had spoken to me came toward me, when another angel came up to him And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
4 and said, “Hurry! Tell that man with the measuring line that Jerusalem won't have any boundaries. It will be too full of people and animals even to have a wall. And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein:
5 The Lord himself has promised to be a protective wall of fire surrounding Jerusalem, and he will be its shining glory in the heart of the city.” For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

A Call to Action
The Lord says to his people, “Run! Escape from the land in the north, where I scattered you to the four winds.
Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the Lord: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the Lord.
7 Leave Babylonia and hurry back to Zion.” Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon.
8 Then the glorious Lord All-Powerful ordered me to say to the nations that had raided and robbed Zion: Zion is as precious to the Lord as are his eyes. Whatever you do to Zion, you do to him. For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
9 And so, he will put you in the power of your slaves, and they will raid and rob you. Then you will know that I am a prophet of the Lord All-Powerful. For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me.
10 City of Zion, sing and celebrate! The Lord has promised to come and live with you. Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the Lord.
11 When he does, many nations will turn to him and become his people. At that time you will know that I am a prophet of the Lord All-Powerful. And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto thee.
12 Then Judah will be his part of the holy land, and Jerusalem will again be his chosen city. And the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.
13 Everyone, be silent! The Lord is present and moving about in his holy place. Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
