절Contemporary English Version (2006)King James Version
1 Dear friends, I love you and long to see you. Please keep on being faithful to the Lord. You are my pride and joy. Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
2
Paul Encourages the Lord's Followers
Euodia and Syntyche, you belong to the Lord, so I beg you to stop arguing with each other.
I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
3 And, my true partner, I ask you to help them. These women have worked together with me and with Clement and with the others in spreading the good news. Their names are now written in the book of life. And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
4 Always be glad because of the Lord! I will say it again: Be glad. Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Always be gentle with others. The Lord will soon be here. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don't ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 You know the teachings I gave you, and you know what you heard me say and saw me do. So follow my example. And God, who gives peace, will be with you. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

Paul Gives Thanks for the Gifts He Was Given
The Lord has made me very grateful that at last you have thought about me once again. Actually, you were thinking about me all along, but you didn't have any chance to show it.
But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
11 I am not complaining about having too little. I have learned to be satisfied with whatever I have. Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know what it is to be poor or to have plenty, and I have lived under all kinds of conditions. I know what it means to be full or to be hungry, to have too much or too little. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 Christ gives me the strength to face anything. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
14 It was good of you to help me when I was having such a hard time. Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.
15 My friends at Philippi, you remember what it was like when I started preaching the good news in Macedonia. After I left there, you were the only church that became my partner by giving blessings and by receiving them in return. Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
16 Even when I was in Thessalonica, you helped me more than once. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
17 I am not trying to get something from you, but I want you to receive the blessings that come from giving. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
18 I have been paid back everything, and with interest. I am completely satisfied with the gifts you sent with Epaphroditus. They are like a sweet-smelling offering or like the right kind of sacrifice that pleases God. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
19 I pray that God will take care of all your needs with the wonderful blessings that come from Christ Jesus! But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
20 May God our Father be praised forever and ever. Amen. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
21
Final Greetings
Give my greetings to all who are God's people because of Christ Jesus. The Lord's followers here with me send you their greetings.
Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.
22 All of God's people send their greetings, especially those in the service of the Emperor. All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Cesar’s household.
23 I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to you and will bless your life! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. It was written to the Philippians from Rome by Epaphroditus.
