Pray for Us
Finally, our friends, please pray for us. This will help the message about the Lord to spread quickly, and others will respect it, just as you do.
Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 Pray that we may be kept safe from worthless and evil people. After all, not everyone has faith. And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord can be trusted to make you strong and protect you from harm. But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 He has made us sure that you are obeying what we taught you and that you will keep on obeying. And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
5 I pray that the Lord will guide you to be as loving as God and as patient as Christ. And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Warnings against Laziness
My dear friends, in the name of the Lord Jesus, I beg you not to have anything to do with any of your people who loaf around and refuse to obey the instructions we gave you.
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
7 You surely know that you should follow our example. We didn't waste our time loafing, For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 and we didn't accept food from anyone without paying for it. We didn't want to be a burden to any of you, so night and day we worked as hard as we could. Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 We had the right not to work, but we wanted to set an example for you. Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 We also gave you this rule: If you don't work, you don't eat. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 Now we learn that some of you just loaf around and won't do any work, except the work of a busybody. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 So, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ, we ask and beg these people to settle down and start working for a living. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13 Dear friends, you must never become tired of doing right. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14 Be on your guard against any followers who refuse to obey what we have written in this letter. Put them to shame by not having anything to do with them. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Don't consider them your enemies. Instead, speak kindly to them as you would to any other follower. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16
Final Prayer
I pray that the Lord, who gives peace, will always bless you with peace. May the Lord be with all of you.
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
17 I always sign my letters as I am now doing: PAUL. The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
18 I pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will be kind to all of you. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. The second epistle to the Thessalonians was written from Athens.
