1	Die Völker in der Welt / Die Herkunft der Völker Das ist der Familienstammbaum von Noahs Söhnen Sem, Ham und Jafet. Ihre Nachkommen wurden nach der Sintflut geboren.	Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.
2	Jafets Nachkommen sind: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Jawan, Tubal, Meschech und Tiras.	The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3	Gomers Nachkommen sind: Aschkenas, Rifat und Togarma.	And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4	Jawans Nachkommen sind: Elischa, Tarschisch, die Rodaniter und die Menschen aus Zypern.	And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5	Von Jawans Nachkommen stammen auch die Völker der Küstenländer ab. Das sind die Nachkommen Jafets, nach Ländern, Sprachen, Familien und Völkern geordnet.	By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
6	Hams Nachkommen sind: Kusch, Ägypten, Put und Kanaan.	And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7	Die Nachkommen von Kusch sind: Seba, Hawila, Sabta, Ragma und Sabtecha. Ragmas Nachkommen sind Saba und Dedan.	And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
8	Kusch ist auch der Vater von Nimrod. Der war der erste große Herrscher auf der Erde.	And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9	Er war ein überaus erfolgreicher Jäger vor dem Herrn. Daher kommt die Redensart: »Ein großer Jäger vor dem Herrn wie Nimrod.«	He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
10	Zuerst herrschte er über die Städte Babylon, Erech, Akkad und Kalne im Land Schinar.	And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11	Von Schinar aus zog Nimrod nach Assyrien und gründete die Städte Ninive, Rehobot-Ir und Kelach.	Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,
12	Zwischen Ninive und Kelach baute er die Stadt Resen. Ninive ist die bekannte große Stadt.	And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
13	Ägypten ist der Vorfahre der Luditer, Anamiter, Lehabiter, Naftuhiter,	And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
14	Patrositer, Kasluhiter und Kaftoriter. Von den Kasluhitern stammen die Philister ab.	And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.
15	Kanaan ist der Vater von Sidon, seinem Erstgeborenen, und von Het.	And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
16	Kanaan ist auch der Vorfahre der Jebusiter, Amoriter und Girgaschiter,	And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,
17	der Hiwiter, Arkiter und Siniter	And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18	sowie der Arwaditer, Zemariter und Hamatiter. Die Völker, die zu den Kanaanitern gehörten, haben sich später ausgebreitet.	And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.
19	Das Gebiet der Kanaaniter erstreckte sich von Sidon aus nach Süden bis Gerar und Gaza. Im Osten reichte es bis Sodom und Gomorra, Adma und Zebojim und bis nach Lescha.	And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
20	Das sind die Nachkommen Hams, nach Familien, Sprachen, Ländern und Völkern geordnet.	These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
21	Jafets ältester Bruder Sem ist der Stammvater aller Nachkommen Ebers.	Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.
22	Sems Nachkommen sind: Elam, Assur, Arpachschad, Lud und Aram.	The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23	Arams Nachkommen sind: Uz, Hul, Geter und Masch.	And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24	Arpachschad ist der Vater von Schelach und Schelach der Vater von Eber.	And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.
25	Eber ist der Vater von zwei Söhnen: Der eine heißt Peleg, denn zu seiner Zeit wurden die Gebiete der Erde aufgeteilt. Sein Bruder heißt Joktan.	And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.
26	Das sind die Söhne Joktans: Almodad, Schelef, Hazarmawet, Jerach,	And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
27	Hadoram, Usal, Dikla,	And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
28	Obal, Abimael, Saba,	And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29	Ofir, Hawila und Jobab. Sie alle sind Söhne Joktans.	And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.
30	Ihr Gebiet erstreckte sich von Mescha über Sefar bis zum Gebirge im Osten.	And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.
31	Das sind die Nachkommen Sems, nach Familien, Sprachen, Ländern und Völkern geordnet.	These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
32	Diese Volksstämme sind die Nachkommen der Söhne Noahs. Sie sind nach der Sintflut zu Völkern geworden und haben sich über die Erde verteilt.	These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
