1	Rehabeam kämpft nicht gegen Jerobeam Rehabeam erreichte Jerusalem. Dort versammelte er das Haus Juda und Benjamin. Das waren 180.000 ausgewählte Krieger, die gegen Israel kämpfen sollten. So sollte Rehabeam seine Herrschaft zurückbekommen.	And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
2	Aber das Wort des Herrn kam zum Gottesmann Schemaja:	But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3	»Sprich zu König Rehabeam von Juda, dem Sohn Salomos, und zu allen Israeliten in Juda und Benjamin:	Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
4	›So spricht der Herr: Zieht nicht los! Kämpft nicht mit euren Brüdern! Kehrt alle zurück nach Hause! Denn ich habe diese Ereignisse so gewollt.‹« Sie hörten darauf, was der Herr gesagt hatte, und ließen davon ab, Jerobeam anzugreifen.	Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
5	Die Regierung von König Rehabeam Rehabeam blieb in Jerusalem und baute in Juda einige Städte zu Festungen aus.	And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
6	Das waren Betlehem, Etam, Tekoa,	He built even Beth–lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
7	Bet-Zur, Socho, Adullam,	And Beth–zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
8	Gat, Marescha, Sif,	And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
9	Adorajim, Lachisch, Aseka,	And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
10	Zora, Ajalon und Hebron. Diese befestigten Städte lagen alle in Juda und Benjamin.	And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.
11	Er stärkte die Festungen, indem er dort Kommandanten einsetzte und Vorräte an Nahrungsmitteln, Öl und Wein anlegte.	And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.
12	In jeder Stadt hielt man nun Schilde und Lanzen bereit. Auch dadurch wurden sie gestärkt. So festigte er seine Herrschaft über Juda und Benjamin.	And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.
13	Die Priester und die Leviten von ganz Israel fanden sich aus allen ihren Gebieten bei ihm ein.	And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.
14	Die Leviten verließen ihre Weiden und ihren Landbesitz und zogen nach Juda und Jerusalem. Denn Jerobeam und seine Nachfolger wollten sie nicht als Priester für den Herrn.	For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest’s office unto the Lord:
15	Jerobeam hatte sich eigene Priester bestellt für die Kultplätze und Götzenbilder, die er angefertigt hatte. Es waren Bilder von Ziegenböcken und Kälbern.	And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
16	Leute aus allen Stämmen Israels folgten den Leviten nach Jerusalem. Sie suchten von ganzem Herzen den Herrn, den Gott Israels. Sie kamen nach Jerusalem, um Opfer darzubringen für den Herrn, den Gott ihrer Vorfahren.	And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the Lord God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the Lord God of their fathers.
17	Sie stärkten das Königreich Juda und unterstützten drei Jahre lang Rehabeam, den Sohn Salomos. Drei Jahre lang folgten sie dem Vorbild von David und Salomo.	So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
18	Rehabeams Frauen und Kinder Rehabeam heiratete Mahalat, die Tochter des Jerimot. Der war ein Sohn von David und Abihajil. Abihajil war eine Tochter des Eliab und Enkelin von Isai.	And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
19	Mahalat wurde die Mutter von Jeusch, Schemarja und Saham.	Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.
20	Nach ihr heiratete Rehabeam Maacha, die Tochter des Abischalom. Die wurde die Mutter von Abija, Attai, Sisa und Schelomit.	And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21	Rehabeam liebte Maacha, die Tochter von Abischalom, mehr als alle seine anderen Frauen und Nebenfrauen. Er hatte 18 Frauen und 60 Nebenfrauen geheiratet. Sie brachten ihm 28 Söhne und 60 Töchter zur Welt.	And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
22	Rehabeam bestimmte Abija, den Sohn der Maacha, zum Ersten in der Thronfolge unter seinen Brüdern. Abija sollte König werden.	And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.
23	Geschickt verteilte er all seine Söhne als Verwalter auf alle befestigten Städte überall in Juda und Benjamin. Er gab ihnen reichlich Nahrungsmittel und fand für sie viele Frauen.	And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.
