1	Die Quelle des Lebens FÜR DEN CHORLEITER. VON DAVID, DEM KNECHT DES Herrn.	The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2	Die Sünde sagt über den Frevler: »Er kennt kein Erschrecken vor Gott!« Das ist eine Enthüllung, die mich ins Herz trifft.	For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
3	Ja, der Frevler fühlt sich sogar geschmeichelt, wenn seine Schuld aufgedeckt wird. Er will andere mit seinem Hass verfolgen.	The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
4	Nichts als Lug und Trug führt er im Mund. Er hat es aufgegeben, vernünftig zu handeln. Er will nichts Gutes mehr tun.	He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
5	Im Bett denkt er sich Gemeinheiten aus. Sein Weg lässt nur Schlechtes erwarten. Das Böse verabscheut er nicht.	Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
6	Herr, deine Güte reicht bis an den Himmel und deine Wahrheit bis zu den Wolken.	Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
7	Deine Gerechtigkeit steht fest wie die Berge Gottes, dein Recht ist so grenzenlos wie die große Flut. Herr, du hilfst Menschen und Tieren.	How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
8	Wie kostbar ist doch deine Güte. Zu dir kommen die Menschenkinder, im Schatten deiner Flügel finden sie Schutz.	They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
9	Von den Gaben deines Hauses essen sie sich satt. Von dem Bach, der zu deiner Freude strömt, gibst du ihnen reichlich zu trinken.	For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
10	Denn bei dir ist die Quelle des Lebens. In deinem Licht sehen wir das Licht.	O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
11	Erhalte deine Güte denen, die dich kennen! Lass die, die ein ehrliches Herz haben, stets deine Gerechtigkeit erfahren!	Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
12	Der Fuß, der dem Hochmut gehorcht, soll mich nicht niedertreten! Die Hand, die der Frevler erhebt, soll mich nicht verjagen!	There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.
13	Sieh, dort fallen schon die Übeltäter! Sie liegen am Boden und stehen nicht mehr auf.	—
