1	Erwartungsvolle Blicke EIN LIED FÜR DIE PILGERREISE. Meine Augen sehen auf zu dir, der du im Himmel thronst.	Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2	Siehe, auch Sklaven sehen auf zu ihrem Herrn, wenn sie auf ein Handzeichen warten. Auch die Sklavin sieht auf zu ihrer Gebieterin, wenn sie auf wohlwollende Behandlung hofft. Genauso sehen wir auf zum Herrn, unserem Gott, bis er sich uns gegenüber barmherzig zeigt.	Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
3	Sei doch barmherzig, Herr, hab Erbarmen mit uns! Denn wir haben es satt, verachtet zu werden.	Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4	Es tut uns in der Seele weh! Wir haben es satt, dass uns die Sorglosen mit Spott überschütten – dass uns die Hochmütigen wie Dreck behandeln.	Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
