|---|---|---|
Hi bada, ene semé, fortificadi Iesus Christ baithan den gratián: | Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Eta anhitz testimonioren artean eneganic ençun dituan gauçác, iracats ietzec gende fideley, cein bercen-ere iracasteco sufficient içanen baitirade. | And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Hic bada trabaillu suffri eçac Iesus Christen gendarmés on anço. | Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
Eztuc nehor guerlán empatchatzen vicitzeco eguitecoéz, guerla eguiteco hautatu duenaren gogaraco dençát. | No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Halaber baldin nehorc combatic eguiten badu, eztuc coroatzen baldin bidezqui combatitu ezpada. | And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
Laborariac trabaillatu behar dic fructuric recebi deçan baino lehen. | The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
Consideraitzac erraiten ditudan gauçác: Iaunac bada eman dieçála adimendu gauça gucietan. | Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
Aicén orhoit Iesus Christ resuscitatu içan dela hiletaric, Dauid-en hacitic celaric, ene Euangelioaren araura: | Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel:
Ceinetan, gaizquiguile anço, affligitzen bainaiz estecailluetarano: baina Iaunaren hitza eztuc estecatua. | Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound.
Halacotz gauça guciac suffritzen citiát elegituacgatic, hec-ere obteni deçatençát Iesus Christ Iaunean den saluamendua, gloria eternalarequin. | Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.
Hitz segura duc haur: Ecen baldin harequin hil içan bagara, harequin vicico-ere garela. | It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
Baldin suffritzen badugu, regnaturen-ere harequin diagu: baldin vkatzen badugu, harc-ere gu vkaturen guiaitic: | If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
Baldin desleyal bagara, hura ordea fidel diagoc, vka bere buruä ecin ceçaquec. | If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
Arramberritzac gauça hauc, protestatzen dualaric Iaunaren aitzinean ezteçan nehorc hitzez iharduqui, baita probetchuric batre ekarten eztuen gauça, aitzitic ençuleac erautzen dituena. | Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
Diligentadi eure buruären Iaincoari approbatu presentatzera, confusione gabeco obrero, artezqui eguiaren hitza ebaquiten duála. | Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Oihu vanoac eta profanoac reprimitzac: ceren impietate handiagotara auançaturen baitirade. | But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Eta hayén hitza gangrená beçala alhaco duc, ceinetaric baitirade Hymeneo eta Phileto: | And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymeneus and Philetus;
Cein eguiatic erauci içan baitirade, erraiten dutela ia resurrectionea eguin içan dela, eta erautzen dié edocein batzuén fedea. | Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
Alabaina Iaincoaren fundamenta fermu diagoc, cigulu haur duelaric, Eçagutzen ditu Iaunac cein diraden harenac: eta, Retira bedi iniustitiataric Christen icena inuocatzen duen gucia. | Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Eta etche handi batetan eztuc solament vrrhezco eta cilharrezco vnciric, baina çurezcoric eta lurrezcoric-ere: eta batzu ohoretacotz, eta berceac desohoretacotz. | But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
Bada nehorc baldin bere buruä hautaric chahu badeça, içanen duc vnci ohoretacotz sanctificatua, eta Iaunaren vsegetacotz carazcoa, eta Iaunaren obra on orotara appaindua. | If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
Gaztetassunaren guthiciey-ere ihes eguiéc, eta iarreiqui aquió iustitiari, fedeari, charitateari, baqueari bihotz purez Iauna inuocatzen dutenequin. | Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Eta questione erhoac, eta instructione gabetacoac iraizquic, daquialaric ecen hec gudu engendratzen dutela. | But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
Bada Iaunaren cerbitzariac eztic reuoltari içan behar, baina eme gucietara, iracasteco carazco, patientqui gaichtoac supportatzen dituelaric: | And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
Emetassunequin iracasten dituelaric opinione contrariotaco diradenac: eya noizpait Iaincoac vrriquimendu eman dieçaqueenez eguiaren eçagutzeco, | In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
Eta emenda ditecen, haren vorondatearen eguiteco, itzuriric deabruaren laçotic, ceinez hatzamanac baitaude. | And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
