| 1 | E eu puz-me sobre a areia do mar, e vi subir do mar uma besta que tinha sete cabeças e dez cornos, e sobre os seus cornos dez diademas, e sobre as suas cabeças um nome de blasphemia. | And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. |
| 2 | E a besta que vi era similhante ao leopardo, e os seus pés como de urso, e a sua bocca como de leão; e o dragão deu-lhe o seu poder, e o seu throno, e grande poderio. | And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. |
| 3 | E vi uma de suas cabeças como ferida de morte, e a sua chaga mortal foi curada; e toda a terra se maravilhou após a besta. | And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. |
| 4 | E adoraram o dragão que deu á besta o seu poder; e adoraram a besta, dizendo: Quem é similhante á besta? quem poderá batalhar contra ella | And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? |
| 5 | E deu-se-lhe bocca para fallar grandes coisas e blasphemias; e deu-se-lhe poder para assim o fazer quarenta e dois mezes. | And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. |
| 6 | E abriu a sua bocca em blasphemias contra Deus, para blasphemar do seu nome, e do seu tabernaculo, e dos que habitam no céu. | And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. |
| 7 | E deu-se-lhe poder para fazer guerra aos sanctos, e vencel-os; e deu-se-lhe poder sobre toda a tribu, e lingua, e nação. | And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. |
| 8 | E adoraram-n'a todos os que habitam sobre a terra, cujos nomes não estão escriptos no livro da vida do Cordeiro morto desde a fundação do mundo. | And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. |
| 9 | Se alguem tem ouvidos, ouça. | If any man have an ear, let him hear. |
| 10 | Se alguem leva em captiveiro, em captiveiro irá: se alguem matar á espada, necessario é que á espada seja morto. Aqui está a paciencia e a fé dos sanctos. | He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. |
| 11 | E vi subir da terra outra besta, e tinha dois cornos similhantes aos do Cordeiro; e fallava como o dragão. | And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. |
| 12 | E exerce todo o poder da primeira besta na sua presença, e faz que a terra e os que n'ella habitam adorem a primeira besta, cuja chaga mortal fôra curada. | And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. |
| 13 | E faz grandes signaes, de maneira que até fogo faz descer do céu á terra, diante dos homens. | And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, |
| 14 | E engana aos que habitam na terra com signaes que se lhe permittiram que fizesse em presença da besta, dizendo aos que habitam na terra que fizessem uma imagem á besta que recebera a ferida da espada e vivia. | And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. |
| 15 | E foi-lhe concedido que désse espirito á imagem da besta, para que tambem a imagem da besta fallasse, e fizesse que fossem mortos todos os que não adorassem a imagem da besta. | And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. |
| 16 | E faz que todos, pequenos e grandes, ricos e pobres, livres e servos, ponham um signal na sua mão direita, ou nas suas testas; | And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: |
| 17 | E que ninguem possa comprar ou vender, senão aquelle que tiver o signal, ou o nome da besta, ou o numero do seu nome. | And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. |
| 18 | Aqui está a sabedoria. Aquelle que tem entendimento, conte o numero da besta; porque é o numero de um homem, e o seu numero é seiscentos e sessenta e seis. | Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. |
