| 1 | E, quando Jesus ia saindo do templo, approximaram-se d'elle os seus discipulos para lhe mostrarem a estructura do templo. | And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. |
| 2 | Jesus, porém, lhes disse: Não vedes tudo isto? Em verdade vos digo que não ficará aqui pedra sobre pedra que não seja derribada. | And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. |
| 3 | E, estando assentado no monte das Oliveiras, chegaram-se a elle os seus discipulos em particular, dizendo: Dize-nos quando serão essas coisas, e que signal haverá da tua vinda e do fim do mundo? | And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? |
| 4 | E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Acautelae-vos, que ninguem vos engane; | And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. |
| 5 | Porque muitos virão em meu nome, dizendo: Eu sou o Christo; e seduzirão muitos. | For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. |
| 6 | E ouvireis de guerras e de rumores de guerras; olhae não vos assusteis, porque é mister que isso tudo aconteça, mas ainda não é o fim. | And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. |
| 7 | Porque se levantará nação contra nação, e reino contra reino, e haverá fomes, e pestes, e terremotos, em varios logares. | For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. |
| 8 | Mas todas estas coisas são o principio de dôres. | All these are the beginning of sorrows. |
| 9 | Então vos hão de entregar para serdes atormentados, e matar-vos-hão: e sereis odiados de todas as gentes por causa do meu nome. | Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. |
| 10 | Então muitos serão escandalizados, e trahir-se-hão uns aos outros, e uns aos outros se aborrecerão, | And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. |
| 11 | E surgirão muitos falsos prophetas, e enganarão muitos. | And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. |
| 12 | E, por se multiplicar a iniquidade, o amor de muitos esfriará. | And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. |
| 13 | Mas aquelle que perseverar até ao fim será salvo. | But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. |
| 14 | E este evangelho do reino será prégado em todo o mundo, em testemunho a todas as gentes, e então virá o fim | And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. |
| 15 | Quando pois virdes que a abominação da desolação, de que fallou o propheta Daniel, está no logar sancto; quem lê, attenda; | When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) |
| 16 | Então, os que estiverem na Judea, fujam para os montes; | Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains: |
| 17 | E quem estiver sobre o telhado não desça a tirar alguma coisa da sua casa; | Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: |
| 18 | E quem estiver no campo não volte atraz a buscar os seus vestidos. | Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. |
| 19 | Mas ai das gravidas e das que amamentarem n'aquelles dias! | And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! |
| 20 | E orae para que a vossa fuga não aconteça no inverno nem em sabbado; | But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: |
| 21 | Porque haverá então grande afflicção, como nunca houve desde o principio do mundo até agora, nem tão pouco ha de haver | For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. |
| 22 | E, se aquelles dias não fossem abreviados, nenhuma carne se salvaria; mas por causa dos escolhidos serão abreviados aquelles dias. | And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. |
| 23 | Então, se alguem vos disser: Eis que o Christo está aqui, ou ali, não deis credito; | Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. |
| 24 | Porque surgirão falsos christos e falsos prophetas, e farão tão grandes signaes e prodigios que, se possivel fôra, enganariam até os escolhidos. | For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. |
| 25 | Eis que eu vol-o tenho predito. | Behold, I have told you before. |
| 26 | Portanto, se vos disserem: Eis que elle está no deserto, não saiaes; Eis que elle está nas camaras; não acrediteis. | Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. |
| 27 | Porque, como o relampago sae do oriente e apparece até ao occidente, assim será tambem a vinda do Filho do homem. | For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
| 28 | Pois onde estiver o cadaver, ahi se ajuntarão as aguias. | For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. |
| 29 | E, logo depois da afflicção d'aquelles dias, o sol escurecerá, e a lua não dará o seu resplendor, e as estrellas cairão do céu, e as potencias dos céus serão abaladas | Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: |
| 30 | Então apparecerá no céu o signal do Filho do homem; e todas as tribus da terra se lamentarão, e verão o Filho do homem, vindo sobre as nuvens do céu, com poder e grande gloria. | And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. |
| 31 | E enviará os seus anjos com rijo clamor de trombeta, e ajuntarão os seus escolhidos desde os quatro ventos, de uma á outra extremidade dos céus. | And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. |
| 32 | Aprendei pois esta parabola da figueira: Quando já o seu ramo se torna tenro e brota folhas, sabeis que está proximo o verão. | Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: |
| 33 | Egualmente, quando virdes todas estas coisas, sabei que está proximo ás portas. | So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. |
| 34 | Em verdade vos digo que não passará esta geração sem que todas estas coisas aconteçam. | Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. |
| 35 | O céu e a terra passarão, mas as minhas palavras não hão de passar. | Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. |
| 36 | Porém d'aquelle dia e hora ninguem sabe, nem os anjos do céu, mas unicamente meu Pae. | But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. |
| 37 | E, como foi nos dias de Noé, assim será tambem a vinda do Filho do homem. | But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
| 38 | Porque como, nos dias anteriores ao diluvio, comiam, bebiam, casavam e davam-se em casamento, até ao dia em que Noé entrou na arca, | For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, |
| 39 | E não o conheceram, até que veiu o diluvio, e os levou a todos,--assim será tambem a vinda do Filho do homem. | And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. |
| 40 | Então, dois estarão no campo; será levado um, e deixado outro. | Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. |
| 41 | Duas estarão moendo no moinho; será levada uma, e deixada outra. | Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. |
| 42 | Vigiae, pois, porque não sabeis a que hora ha de vir o vosso Senhor: | Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. |
| 43 | Mas considerae isto: se o pae de familia soubesse a que vigilia da noite havia de vir o ladrão, vigiaria e não deixaria minar a sua casa. | But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. |
| 44 | Por isso, estae vós apercebidos tambem; porque o Filho do homem ha de vir á hora em que não penseis. | Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. |
| 45 | Quem é pois o servo fiel e prudente, que o Senhor constituiu sobre os seus servos, para lhes dar o sustento a seu tempo? | Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? |
| 46 | Bemaventurado aquelle servo que o Senhor, quando vier, achar fazendo assim. | Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. |
| 47 | Em verdade vos digo que o porá sobre todos os seus bens. | Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. |
| 48 | Porém, se aquelle mau servo disser comsigo: O meu senhor tarde virá; | But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; |
| 49 | E começar a espancar os seus conservos, e a comer e beber com os temulentos, | And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; |
| 50 | Virá o senhor d'aquelle servo n'um dia em que o não espera, e á hora em que elle não sabe, | The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, |
| 51 | E separal-o-ha, e porá a sua parte com os hypocritas: ali haverá pranto e ranger de dentes. | And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |
