| 2 | (Porque diz: Ouvi-te em tempo acceitavel e soccorri-te no dia da salvação: Eis aqui agora o tempo acceitavel, eis aqui agora o dia da salvação.) | (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) |
| 3 | Não dando nós escandalo em coisa alguma, para que o ministerio não seja vituperado; | Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: |
| 4 | Antes, como ministros de Deus, fazendo-nos agradaveis em tudo: na muita soffrença, nas afflicções, nas necessidades, nas angustias, | But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, |
| 5 | Nos açoites, nas prisões, nos tumultos, nos trabalhos, nas vigilias, nos jejuns, | In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; |
| 6 | Na pureza, na sciencia, na longanimidade, na benignidade, no Espirito Sancto, no amor não fingido, | By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, |
| 7 | Na palavra da verdade, no poder de Deus, pelas armas da justiça, á direita e á esquerda, | By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, |
| 8 | Por honra e por deshonra, por infamia e por boa fama: como enganadores, e sendo verdadeiros: | By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; |
| 9 | Como desconhecidos, mas sendo bem conhecidos: como morrendo, e eis que vivemos: como castigados, e não mortos: | As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; |
| 10 | Como contristados, mas sempre alegres: como pobres, mas enriquecendo a muitos: como nada tendo, e possuindo tudo. | As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. |
| 11 | Ó corinthios, a nossa bocca aberta está para vós, o nosso coração está dilatado. | O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged. |
| 12 | Não estaes estreitados em nós; mas estaes estreitados nas vossas entranhas. | Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels. |
| 13 | Ora, em recompensa d'isto, (fallo como a filhos) dilatae-vos tambem vós. | Now for a recompence in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged. |
| 14 | Não vos prendaes desegualmente ao jugo com os infieis; porque, que participação tem a justiça com a injustiça? E que communicação tem a luz com as trevas | Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? |
| 15 | E que concordia ha entre Christo e Belial? Ou que parte tem o fiel com o infiel? | And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? |
| 16 | E que consentimento tem o templo de Deus com os idolos? Porque vós sois o templo do Deus vivente, como Deus disse: N'elles habitarei, e entre elles andarei: e eu serei o seu Deus e elles serão o meu povo. | And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. |
